These Outdoor Canada readers are making the most of their winter adventures

Last March, Melvin Hillier thought he’d lost his wallet on his way to go ice fishing on Alberta’s Cold Lake. Two days later, he went ice fishing again, and this time his buddy Brian Donovan snagged something in 115 feet of water. Amazingly, it was the lost wallet. “It was a complete fluke,” says Melvin. “We had no idea the wallet was even in the lake!” Now that’s a lucky catch.
