About Gord Pyzer
Twenty-eight (28) time national award winning writer and multiple National Magazine Gold and Silver Medal Winner, Gord Pyzer, is widely regarded as Canada’s most scientific angler.
Known in fishing circles as “Doctor Pyzer”, Gord has a Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management and worked for thirty years as a senior manager with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, including Policy Advisor to the Assistant Deputy Minister for Northern Ontario.
An internationally sought out speaker and seminar presenter, Gord is the Fishing Editor of Outdoor Canada Magazine; Field Editor of In-Fisherman Magazine and Television; Co-Host of the In-Fisherman Ice Guide Television series and Co-Host of the Real Fishing Radio Show. Gord is also the President of Canadian Angling Adventures Ltd.
A keen tournament angler, Gord has won numerous major events across Canada and the United States. He is the co-author of THE ART OF ANGLING and 101 REAL FISHING SECRETS. Gord is seen regularly on IN-FISHERMAN TELEVISION, the most watched fishing show in North America, IN-FISHERMAN ICE GUIDE TELEVISION, the only television show devoted exclusively to ice fishing, and Bob Izumi’s REAL FISHING SHOW.
A two-time recipient of the NOTO President’s Cup and winner of the NWOTA Conservation Award, Gord was named by The Fishing News as, “one of Canada’s most influential people.”
In 2003, Gord was recognized as one of 30 Canadians … “who have had the biggest impact on hunting, fishing and conservation in Canada since 1972.”
In 2009, Gord was inducted into the Canadian Angler Hall of Fame.
