Who we are
For over a decade, outdoorcanada.ca has been the definitive online source for all things hunting, fishing, and conservation. Providing everything from sporting tips and tactics to the best times and places to fish and hunt, outdoorcanada.ca is one of the few websites to focus on issues that matter to and affect Canadian hunters and anglers.
In 2011, the site was redesigned to better serve our users by enabling them to share and communicate with us, and to supply them with more relevant information than ever before in a clean and easy way. Moving forward, outdoorcanada.ca will become part of a larger network of Canadian outdoors websites, including sibling brands:

As Canada’s only national fishing and hunting magazine, Outdoor Canada has been entertaining and informing readers since 1972 with a lively mix of how-to articles, buyer’s guides, profiles, travelogues, in-depth reportage and expert analysis.
Along with promoting conservation and celebrating Canada’s heritage sports, Outdoor Canada encourages anglers and hunters to improve their skills and broaden their knowledge of the outdoors. Included are fishing and hunting hot spots and roundups of the best new gear.
Published six times a year, Outdoor Canada has received numerous awards for its top-notch writing, photography and design:
National Magazine Awards
Outdoor Canada has won a total of 10 gold NMAs, eight silver NMAs and 51 honourable mentions since its debut.
Canadian Society of Magazine Editors Awards
The magazine has won the following awards from the CSME: Best Front-of-the-Book; The Jim Cormier Award for Display Writing; Magazine of the Year in the 50,000 to 149,000 medium circulation category; and Editor of the Year: Patrick Walsh.
Outdoor Writers of Canada Awards
Outdoor Canada has a number of awards from the Outdoor Writers of Canada, including: 13 first-place finishes; nine second-place positions; and 11 third-place awards.
Outdoor Writers Association of America Awards
The magazine has taken home two first-place wins and two second-place wins from the Outdoor Writers Association of America.
