Heading out for giant smallies
I’ve been chained to the desk the last few weeks, and other than a few jaunts to my local largemouth pond, there hasn’t been much fishing. And I have to tell you, it’s killing me. That’s why I’m taking off tomorrow to do some valuable field research, thanks to an invite from pro bass angler Derek Strub to join him out on Lake Ontario. Our friend, Tom McMurray, the advertising and creative director at Normark (Rapala Canada), is breaking free, too, to join us. It should be a hoot—and hopefully as productive as our trip together last September to the same secret stretch of Great Lake (that’s me with a couple of my fat, gobie-fed smallies from that day). Watch this space in the next day or so for fresh fish pics.
