Ottawa-area anglers and hunters will soon have a new store catering specifically to their needs with the grand opening of SAIL’s fifth outlet, the Laval, Quebec-based company’s first store outside of Quebec. Set to open December 1, the new “Outdoors Superstore” is located at the Ottawa Train Yards, the new, centrally located shopping district in the nation’s capital.

“The Ottawa region has been an obvious choice due to its geographic location that favours a wide range of outdoor activities, as well as an adept clientele,” says SAIL President Tony Mignacca

According to a press release, the Quebec company has invested $15 million in the new 70,000-square-foot store, which will stock more than half a million products on its shelves for area outdoorsmen and women. Promises the press release: “SAIL’s mission as ‘The Outdoor Superstore’ is to offer the largest choice of brand-name products at truly competitive prices.”

Founded more than four decades ago, SAIL already has stores in Beloeil, Brossard, Laval and Quebec City. Plans are afoot to expand further into Ontario with another outlet slated for Toronto in 2011. SAIL also publishes two annual catalogues, both online and in print.
