There’s nothing like noshing on a warm piece of bread after a long day outside. If packing a loaf for later isn’t practical, your hopes of a warm treat shouldn’t be dashed.

Making campfire bread, commonly referred to as bannock, is simple and requires only a few basic ingredients that are easy to pack and travel with to your campsite.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Whole wheat flour
  • Powered milk
  • Baking powder

Optional:

  • Brown sugar
  • rasins

Tip: Pre-mix your dry ingredients in a resealable bag.  When you’re ready to cook all you’ll have to do is add water and mix!

For ingredient measurements and the how to cook, check out this video by Kevin Callan, The Happy Camper.
