The new Outdoor Canada fishing boat is on the water!
Having read the glowing reviews and chatted with other anglers, such as Field Editor T.J. Schwanky, who had already taken the new Kingfisher Flex Sport 1925 for a test ride, I had high expectations about this latest offering from Vernon, B.C.-based WestWinn Group. Well, I was definitely not disappointed.
On Saturday morning, I picked up Outdoor Canada’s new Flex Sport from Boatland in Orono (thanks for getting her water-ready, Robbie!) and soon had it out on Lake Scugog with my good fishing buddies Jon Baker and Patty Trudell. One word: awesome.
Now, Robbie had told me to “baby” the spanking brand new 150-horse Verado, so I did, keeping it to under 4,000 rpms while cruising. But I have to tell you, it took all my being not to punch it. This boat literally pops right out of the water and on plane from a dead start, and that’s without hammering down the throttle. I can’t wait to see what she can really do.
In the meantime, there’s some fishing to be done, and this handsome multi-species rig is just the ticket, with piles of deck space, fore and aft. It’s going to be a good summer.
