Think you can best Survivor’s Boston Rob Mariano?
As many of you know, Outdoor Canada and our three fellow magazine brands here at Quarto Communications are hosting the 2nd annual Great Outdoors & DIY Weekend (November 25-27). With the big show just a month away, I’ll be posting updates and teasers from our show department to keep you abreast of all the exciting things we have in store. First up, some news about the appearance of Survivor’s Boston Rob Mariano (pictured above), and a special contest where you could win a chance to compete against him:
One of the main attractions at The Great Outdoors & DIY Weekend is an appearance by Survivor champion Boston Rob Mariano. He’ll be doing an interactive Q&A presentation on Saturday, November 26 at 11:00 am. Your ticket to the show gets you into this presentation – general admission seating.
A highlight of the presentation will be a Survivor-style contest where contestants can take on Rob in a head-to-head challenge. The contestants are chosen from an online contest. We’ve had a few questions about what the challenge will entail, so Sharon Donaldson, Features & Promotions Manager for the show shares the contest format.
“The challenge will be a fun opportunity for fans to compete side-by-side with Boston Rob,” says Sharon. “If you can cast a fishing line, untie ropes, use a screwdriver, and toss balls at a target, then you are a great candidate for the contest. You don’t need to be in top physical-form to compete.”
One thing that won’t be in the challenge? “No gross food component,” advises Sharon. Good thing: we were all pretty disgusted at the “meat on a spit” challenge a couple of weeks ago on the current season of Survivor.
Click here enter the contest before November 15.
